Fannie Lou Hamer Political Action Committee
Mayoral Candidate Forum-Tuesday, January 13, 2009
– Fannie Lou Hamer Political Action Committee will hold a Mayoral Forum for the 2009 Special Election. The Fannie Lou Hamer Political Action Committee has often been referred to as the leading grassroots organization in Southeastern Michigan. The PAC is actively working to help the community to determine the leading mayoral candidate for the city. The Fannie Hamer Political Action Committee holds an 87% success rate for candidates and issues endorsed in the 2008 General Election.
“We believe that the invited candidates have a proven track record and the ability to move Detroit Forward,” said Yvette McElroy, Field Director. Confirmed candidates include: Dave Bing, Interim Mayor-Ken Cockrel, Freman Hendrix, Nicholas Hood, Sharon McPhail, Warren Evans and Coleman Young, Jr. The Mayoral Candidates Forum will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at 7707 W. Outer Drive at the Village Dome Banquet Facility located at Fellowship Chapel.
The voters of the City of Detroit will have an opportunity to hear first hand and ask questions of the candidates in order to make an informed decision. The special moderator for the event is Frankie Darcell, Mix 92.3 Radio Personality and Host of Detroit Talk of the Town.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the forum will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. The forum is free and open to the general public. All are invited to attend.
